Harvest Fall Renewal Conference, November 1-4
Harvest Fellowship of Shambaugh, Iowa will host special services, Sunday November 1 through Wednesday November 4. The Northeast Nodaway Project Prom committee is sponsoring a Branson Fun Night on Friday, November 6, at 7 featuring a juggler and hypnotist.


 

Nodaway County Historical Museum fall luncheon Saturday, November 7. Lunch is served from 11-1:30 and there will be live music. Proceeds support museum collections and operating expenses.


 

Lord's Portion Soup Supper and Bazaar at Clearmont United Methodist Church Saturday, November 7, from 4-7 cost is a free will offering.


 

Graham Lions Club will hold an all you can eat fish and chicken fry Saturday Nov 7, Dec 5, Jan 2, Feb 6, March 6, and April 3 from 4:30-7 in the Community Building.


Xenia Lodge #50 will host a breakfast in the Hopkins Community Club Building on Sunday, November 8, from 7-1. Proceeds go towards Masonic Building Fund.


The Graham United Methodist Church will be holding a Fall Harvest Dinner & Auction on Sunday November 8.  The dinner will be held from 11:00-1:00, with the auction to follow. 


 

St. Gregory's Parish Annual Fall Dinner Sunday, November 8 from 11-2:30 in the gymnasium. Everyone Welcome!


Elmo Veterans Day Dinner Sunday, November 8 at 11:30 in the Community Building in Elmo. Door Prizes, hunters welcome.


United Methodist Church is having their United Methodist Men Annual Thanksgiving Dinner on November 11, from 5-6:15. Cost is a free will donation.


The November 12 meeting for the Democrat Club will be held at The Mandarin in Maryville at 6:00.  We will eat buffet style followed with a meeting.  No reservations are needed.  Everyone is welcome!


Meril is hosting a Fall Social for all people with disabilities in Northwest Missouri on November 12th from 5-8. This event will be held at Wyatt Park Christian Church, 2623 Mitchell Avenue, in St. Joseh. Meril wants to provide a social outlet for all people with disabilities. No charge for anything during the event so come enjoy an evening of activities, prizes, dancing, crafts, food, and fun!


 

The Westboro Lions will have a Pancake and Sausage breakfast, 14 Nov 2009, at the Westboro Fire Station,
Westboro, Mo., 7am till 11am. Freewill donation.

American Legion Post 464 in Conception Junction will hold a Pancake Breakfast on Sunday, November 15 from 7-noon.


 

Community Blood Center will hold a blood drive on Monday, November 16 from 10-6 in the Fellowship Hall of First United Methodist Church in Maryville.


 

Get Tuff Productions; R&B and Rap performances December 5 at 7:00 in North West Missouri State University Fine Arts Building.


 

Nodaway County Historical Society Board of Directors will meet on Tuesday, January 19, to plan events for the coming year. Ideas for museum programs are welcome.


 

The Mt Ayr Legion, Jam and Dance, will be held every Monday evening at the American Legion Hall located at 1302 S. Cleveland Street. A Country-Western Music Jam and Dance at the Villisca Community Center will be held every other Thursday through December 17. Other Events/Meetings

The Peer Support Line is now up and running in this area. The line is for people with and affected by mental illness and provides support, contact with others in similar situations, and understanding. There is no fee for the call and the line is open 10 AM to 10 PM. In St. Joe area call (816) 232-8951 or toll free at 1-877-771-8726.


The newly formed Maryville Bike club is hosting group rides every Saturday morning at 9:30 AM and Tuesday evenings at 5:45 PM. Both ride leave from Donaldson Westside Park. Riders of all levels welcome. Helmets are also strongly encouraged. For more information email here.


The Survivor Support Group meets monthly on the first Thursday from 6 PM to 7 PM at the Wesley Center located at 549 West Fourth St. in Maryville. All those whose lives have been touched by the tragedy of suicide are invited to come talk and share thoughts and feelings in a comfortable and confidential setting. The Northwest Opry featuring the Grand River Pickers will perform every Sunday at Movie Magic (214 West 3rd) from 2 PM to 5 PM. Walk on performers are welcome and there is also a snack bar and dance floor at the event. Everyone in the area is welcome to attend.


The Parnell American Legion Post #528 hosts a free will donation breakfast the first Sunday of each month. All proceeds go toward community projects.


A Cancer Support Group for patients and their families meets at Laura Street Baptist Church (1st and Laura streets, west entrance) on the third Tuesday evenings of each month, from 6 to 7:30. For more information, call Ken Thom at 582-2531, Sharon Neustadter at 562-3120 or Elda Jones at 582-8874.


Maryville Parks and Recreation hosts a Senior Pitch Tournament each Tuesday afternoon from 1:30 PM to 3:30 PM at the Maryville Community Building. There is no charge to participate.


There will be a Loss of a Child support group from 6:30 PM to 9:30 PM every fourth Tuesday of the month at St. Francis Hospital's Hospitality Room. Refreshments will be served at the meetings and for more information call 582-8510.


The Maryville Public Library will host a Book Club meeting on the third Tuesday of each month from 7 PM to 9 PM in the library basement. All interested readers are invited to attend and a book list is available from the library.


The Atchison River Rods host a cruise at Sonic Drive-In at 10th and Main in Atchison, KS on the first Saturday of each month. The cruises start at 5 PM, and go until they're done. For more information, call (913) 367-1370 or (913) 367-1076.


Maryville Parks and Recreation hosts a noon luncheon for adults aged 50 and over the second Thursday of each month. For more information call 562-2923.


La Leche League of Maryville hosts programs on breast feeding the first Saturday of each month at 10 AM at the Public Library in Maryville. For more information call 562-8186.


A Multiple Sclerosis Support Group will meet on the second Saturday of the month at St Gregory's Parish Hall in Maryville (333 South Davis) at 10:30 AM. For more information on the group call 562-2754.


A Parkinson's Support Group meets at the First Christian Church (201 W. 3rd in Maryville) in the Fellowship Hall. Meetings are held the third Thursday of each month. For more information, call 562-4312 (daytime) or 562-4621 (evening).


Sheridan Community Betterment Club hosts dances every fourth Saturday night of the month at the Sheridan School from 9 PM to 1 AM, with breakfast following. All proceeds will go to improvements and maintenance of the school building.


Temple Baptist Church holds "The Kings Kids Program" starting at 7 PM every Wednesday night. This is for children in grades 1 - 6 and includes playing games and learning about the bible.
